This panel is designed to detect key genetic abnormalities associated with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL). It includes the following probes:
ALK (2p23)
BCL6 (3q27)
MYC (8q24)
CCND1/IgH t(11;14)
IgH (14q32)
IgH/BCL2 t(14;18)
MALT1 (18q21)
Test Customization: Probes may be ordered separately.
Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma (NHL) FISH Panel
- FISH
Specimen Requirements
Bone Marrow Aspirate: 1-2 mL in sodium heparin tube. EDTA tube is acceptable.
Peripheral Blood: 2-5 mL in sodium heparin tube. EDTA tube is acceptable.
Fresh, Unfixed Tissue: Tissue in RPMI.
Bone Marrow/Peripheral Blood Smear or Fresh Tissue Touch Preparation Slides: Minimum 7 slides, labeled with specimen type.
Fluids: Mix in equal parts with RPMI (specimen volume to RPMI ratio of 1:1).
Fixed Cell Suspension: A client-prepared fixed cell suspension is acceptable if received in 3:1 Methanol:Glacial Acetic Acid.
H&E slide (required) plus paraffin block.
Cut Slides: H&E slide (required) plus 9 unstained slides cut at 4-5 microns.
Cut Slides: H&E slide (required) plus 3 unstained slides cut at 4-5 microns for single abnormalities.
Note for Tech Only clients: Please circle H&E slide.
