Flow Cytometry

Flow Cytometry is a rapid way to measure the characteristics of individual cells. Hematopoietic cells (blood, bone marrow aspirate, lymph nodes, etc.) are labeled with selective fluorescent antibodies and quantified according to their surface antigens. These fluorescent antibodies bind to specific cells in a pattern of antigen expression that is used to identify particular malignant cell types.

Panels of antibodies are often used to help define which malignant cell types are present; these are selected based on the sample type received.

NeoGenomics utilizes 5-color Flow Cytometry and follows Side Scatter Linear Gating Philosophy. We offer both Global and Tech-Only levels of service for Flow Cytometry and results are reported out within 24 hours or less upon receipt of specimen.
